Our History

FutureSmart

MassMutual Foundation's FutureSmart program helps expand financial education to middle & high schoolers, at zero cost, without requiring teachers to become experts in financial education.

  • To date, the courses have educated more than 1.6 million students across 50 states.
  • FutureSmart's Companion Mobile App provides a unique guided experience for students outside the classroom, also at no cost.
  • Resources inside of the program will help parents talk with their kids about money and planning for their financial futures.
  • To get your school involved, simply have your school teacher, principal or superintendent visit the website below to get started.

We are confident that financial education is the key to reversing some of the chilling trends in financial literacy, capacity, and wealth distribution.

LifeBridge

LifeBridge

How LifeBridge Works:

  • Through LifeBridge, the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) insures the lives of qualified working people for the benefit of their children by offering a 10-year term life insurance policy with a death benefit of $50,000.
  • With LifeBridge, we identified a way to tie one of our philanthropic focuses -- education -- with our primary product -- life insurance. LifeBridge policies provide children with the opportunity to get an education if an insured parent dies during the term of the policy.
  • If an insured parent or legal guardian dies during the policy term, the money goes directly to a trust fund, managed by The MassMutual Trust Company, FSB, a wholly owned stock subsidiary of MassMutual, to pay for the educational expenses of the child(ren).
